Holiday Dresses for Every Occasion

As if the holidays aren’t stressful enough already, let’s add the seemingly endless functions you have to find outfits for to the mix. And, chances are, the invites for all of the holiday/office/Christmas/wedding parties are starting to pile up if they haven’t already. Personally, the only fancy event I’m going to this year happened this past weekend at a lovely fall wedding on an atypical brisk November eve. Since it was a Friday afternoon wedding, I opted to dress off the beaten path with a skirt/jacket combo I’ve never had the wherewithal to try before, and lemme tell ya — it was a friggin hit (click on the pic to get an outfit breakdown).

Alas, like I said, it’s the only fancy holiday event I’ll be attending this year. I’m torn on how I feel about it because, on the one hand, I don’t have to stress about what the fuck to wear to everything. But, on the other hand, I love excuses to get dressed up and buy new clothes. Tah-may-toe, tah-mah-toe, amiright? But for those of you who have things coming up and you’re forking d-r-e-a-d-i-n-g the task at hand of finding something to wear, I GOT CHU. Or at least imma try and got chu.

Now, because I only have a certain amount of time and money available, I wasn’t able to go full fashion blogger on y’all and actually do photoshoots in multiple dresses. I tried that last year and, while Whitney got some fantastic shots and it was fun-ish to do, it was also so cold outside and honestly, I don’t know how fashion bloggers do it because that shit is fucking exhausting. So, instead, I did what I do best—I scoured my favorite places to shop (Madewell, Nordstrom, and H&M) for holiday lewks I would personally shop and wear in an effort to take some leg work out of this feat for you. Also, when in doubt for any event ever, just get this ASTR The Label dress from Nordstrom in any color and wear that because it’s truly the perfect occasion dress (just size up because it definitely runs small)

Okay. Now, without further adieu, here are some holiday things that caught my eye that I would explore if I had a reason to. So, explore for me.
