OOTD Roundup, Vol. 1

Welcome to a new blog segment I'm calling OOTD Roundup (for now) (title subject to change if the mood strikes)!

Since I'm now on the LIKEtoKNOW.it platform, my standard OOTDs are more than likely going to become more and more frequent. Yes, I now have a "SHOP" tab that houses my LIKEtoKNOW.it feed in case you're ever on the fence about buying something and need to refer back to its picture to talk yourself into it, but I want to make my OOTD posts more personal than that. So I figured why not start an OOTD Roundup segment to recap the week's looks and use this space to go into more detail about what I'm wearing and why (since no one truly likes nor reads novel-esque Instagram captions)?

Finally, my two true loves are coming together in one post: fashion and detailed, long-winded writing! So here's the roundup for this week:

Pizza Pajama Set

First off, this pose is exactly how I greet every male suitor when he's entering my bedroom for the first time. Just kidding. I don't know what it is, but short pajama sets have become a new obsession. So when Fashion Jackson herself gifted me randomly with this set, I was like OMG YOU LIKE ME. YOU REALLY LIKE ME. It's by TopShop at Nordstrom, $40, and bar none my new favorite PJ set. There will be more but, for now, this is taking the lead. It's as cute as it is comfortable and really cuts to the core of my true emotions which is: pizza.

TARGET'S GUCCI KNOCKOFFS

I have to give credit where it's due, so SHOUT OUT to my sister for this amazing find. Truth be told, I was getting preeeety depressed that I would never own a pair of real Gucci loafers. Now, I get that this look isn't for everyone. However, if you're into it (which you should be), these are better-than-good-enough knockoffs by Merona at Target for TWENTY THREE FUCKIN' DOLLARS. $23 instead of $650? SIGN ME UP. Sure, they'll fall apart by next year, but I will wear the hell out of them until then and feel very fly while doing so.

OVAIES FOR ALL

Okay, there is A LOT going on in this OOTD. First and foremost, I call overalls "ovaies" because why wouldn't I? And these particular ovaies are it, y'all. You may disagree with the ovaie movement, but let's agree to disagree because I've worn these since spring and will continue to wear them through the winter (with booties and a cardigan?! COME ON). The button up cactus-print shirt is a very atypical splurge purchase I made months ago. It's by a line called Rails who makes the best button downs ever, but they're expensive AF so I get, like, one a year. So this was my 2017 Rails shirt (it also comes in denim, which has been very hard for me not to purchase). The Nikes I've been living in. I got mine off Urban, but they have more limited sizing so that's why I directed y'all to Amazon. They're so comfortable and so pristine and so perfect that I'm actually terrified every time I wear them because I do not want to mess them up. They are my favorite thing ever right now. The bag is Madewell and was handed down to me by (GUESS WHO?) Fashion Jackson (thanks, girl). And the glasses. Oh, the glasses. Another atypical splurge purch, but I had to. Sunglasses, especially expensive ones, aren't my "thing" but when I do buy them, it's because they're cute AF Ray-Bans that were just too cool not to take home.

CAMO JACKET COLLUSION

Camo is a neutral. We all know this to be true. I got this jacket with its cute ass red zipper detailing at a boutique in Dallas that's now closed, HOWEVER I found a few very close alternatives if you're interested. One is from GAP and ON SALE! And one is from Forever21 and half the price of the GAP one. Both are cute. Staying on the GAP train, my white tank is theirs as well and the best tank top I've ever owned. I bought it in grey, black, and white. It's such an amazing basic and the material (what they call "softspun") is heavenly. The jeans, too, are GAP (I'd say 3/4 of my closet is) but I didn't realize until I after posted this look today that they're SOLD OUT! Sorry about that, y'all. I found these that are sort of similar? Ugh. The booties are DV for Target from last year, but the 2017 versions are even cuter! Lastly, the hoops are Gorjana at Nordstrom (and easily the best hoop I own) and the lipstick is my go-to red: Jungle Red by Nars

WHEW! First OOTD Roundup in the books. Leave a comment and let me know what y'all think of this happening every Friday and, until then, HAPPY SEPTEMBER and have a great weekend!
