10 Minute Turkey Taco Meat
I would eat homemade tacos every night of the week if I could. Which, I could. So I might. Anyway, my favorite type of taco meat is the kind that involves salsa mixed into the recipe, so that’s why I knew this recipe I found this week was gonna be bomb. Not only that, but it comes together in literally 10 min, which makes it even better. Serve however you like (tacos, salad, rice, cauli rice, whatever)!
10 Minute Turkey Taco Meat by The Salty Marshmallow
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 Small Onion, Diced
2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
2 Pounds Lean Ground Turkey
1 15 Ounce Can Black Beans, Drained and Rinsed
2 Packets Taco Seasoning
1 Cup Salsa
Juice of 1 Lime, About 2 Tablespoons
1-2 Teaspoons Hot Sauce, such as Cholula, Tapatio, Tabasco
1/4 Cup Water
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the diced onion, minced garlic and ground turkey, cooking and stirring occasionally until meat is broken up and cooked through.
If necessary, drain any excess fat and return the meat to the pan.
Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the black beans, taco seasoning, salsa, lime juice, hot sauce, and water.
Cook, stirring constantly for 4-5 minutes until warmed through.
